A New Camera

Last week I bought a Canon Rebel 350D-XT to replace my old ailing Sony Mavica FD-83. I’m using the kit lens (no stabilization, all-round lens). Beyond the pixel upgrade (0.7M pixels to 8M pixels) the camera is more of a “pro-sumer” style and takes very nice photos in full auto mode. We went to the zoo this weekend and I’ve uploaded a few of the zoo pictures I took. Click “read more” to see the full album.

Duck This duck was sitting just off of the side of the walking path. Closest picture I got all day.	Penguin The penguins were fairly playful, jumping and swimming around.
Hippopotomus I wasn't in the best spot for this photo, but at least she's in focus. :) No, I didn't inspect her myself, I knew the hippo is a she as the zoo attendant was calling to her.	Jaguar This picture was taken through glass and turned out OK. I need a bigger zoom lens to get more detail at this distance (about 20m).
